Bringing data to life: The link between health and wealth

On its own, health data is often invaluable. It can enable us to track the prevalence of health conditions in the population, for example, or provide the information needed to supply vital services.
But when we link health data with other data sets – such as earnings and social security — we can discover a whole new range of insights such as how likely people might be to return to work or how their income might change after medical treatment through the NHS.
Join us on Tuesday 21st October for the next instalment of the ‘Bringing Data to Life’ webinar series and discover how we’re using a variety of linked data to better understand the interplay between health and work, with the goal of improving the wellbeing of individuals and the economy.
What’s on the agenda
We’ll be joined by Emma Cox, CEO at Endometriosis UK, who will share how linking health and wealth data helps us to understand the economic impacts of endometriosis on lives. And our speakers from ONS will discuss what linked data reveals about people’s probability of employment after weight loss surgery.
We’ll also take a look at how we link data in a way that protects the personal information of individuals and businesses, with data security and ethics at the heart of our work.
Why Should You Join?
As part of the “Bringing Data to Life” series of online events we are showcasing the power of data and its impact on society. At each event we hear from data experts who explain how they turn numbers into stories that shape our world, all while keeping your data safe and sound.
Plus, these webinars are interactive! We use Slido to keep things lively and give you the chance to ask questions and share your thoughts.
It’s going to be another fascinating hour packed with insights and inspiration.
